I hate the term "lifestyle change". It's one of those new-age platitudes that someone came up with to sum up a lot of things in a  quick and dirty catch-phrase. Its a bumper-sticker without any gravitas or explanation. Its a great phrase for soccer moms, and weekend warrior dads, who think that if they just eliminate a Tobelerone once in awhile, their pants might fit a little looser. So, I hate the fact that when I started P90X, ninety days ago, I had no idea that this was going to become a lifestyle change.

I had been running a couple miles, three times a week, for years. I thought that this was sufficient. But, in January 2011, I really felt that it was not really doing anything. I wouldn't call it a plateau so much, as I had been having fun listening to tunes and running - I just felt it was time for something new. More importantly, I felt that it wasn't doing enough. I was tired, cranky, achy, and frankly, I just felt old. So, I decided to try P90X - just to see what happens.

The first night of P90X, I realized how much I wasn't in shape, at all, despite the running. Some of the exercises were downright ugly. But over the past ninety days, I'm happy to say that its gotten a lot easier, and I've seen the changes both physically and mentally.

Tonight, I am going to do the final DVD - Yoga. Its also been my hardest. At an hour-and-a-half, its a full-blown mental commitment as well as a rough-ride physically. It also marks the end of the program, which still amazes me.

The next step, is simple. Start the whole darn thing again, and again, see what happens. Email me at jerseytoddshow@gmail.com or check out my Beachbody site, if you want to join in on the journey.

Crap, looks like I'm trying to push this whole "lifestyle change" nonsense on you, too. Sorry.
